About
The American Society of Workers Comp Professionals, Inc. (AMCOMP) works to raise the professional standards of practice in the field of workers' compensation. Through its Workers Compensation Professional (WCP®) program, AMCOMP certifies professionals who demonstrate proficiency in workers’ compensation by the successful completion of the WCP® course curriculum and final exam.
The WCP® designation is valuable for professionals across the workers' compensation industry, including claims examiners, healthcare providers, attorneys, rehabilitation counselors, auditors, and other industry stakeholders. It is especially beneficial for professionals working for insurance carriers, self-insured organizations, agencies, brokerages, third-party administrators, and state workers' compensation agencies.

Earning the WCP® Designation
Enroll in the program and pay the course fees.
Successfully complete the required coursework and related assessments.
The WCP® coursework is offered in various formats, including self-study, virtual, or through university partners. Details for each enrollment option are listed here.Pass the AMCOMP final accreditation exam, inclusive of all chapters, with a score of 70% or higher. Students have 90 minutes to complete a 40-question closed book exam consisting of multiple-choice and true/false questions. The exam is hosted on our virtual platform and can be taken whenever students are ready, with no scheduling required. Upon passing the exam, WCP-certified professionals receive a digital certificate and badge and are entitled to use the WCP® designation. Graduates are also invited to attend the Annual Meeting at a discounted rate, where recent graduates are recognized at the Celebration Breakfast.
RETAKE POLICY: Students who fail are allowed one retake as part of their original registration. If failed a second time, students can opt to purchase one additional exam retake for $150. This third attempt must be completed within 60 days of the retake purchase. If the exam is failed a third time, re-enrollment is required.
Maintaining the WCP® Designation
The WCP designation is designed to provide lasting value. There are no recertification fees and no continuing education requirements to maintain the certification. However, AMCOMP remains committed to supporting professional growth within the industry by offering ongoing educational opportunities, including complimentary webinars each year for WCP®designees. WCP Office Hours
We host regular “WCP office hours” with an industry expert who will be there to answer questions about workers’ compensation, the WCP program, or the textbook.
