Workers Compensation Professional (WCP®)
Designation Program

The American Society of Workers Comp Professionals, Inc. (AMCOMP) works to raise the professional standards of practice in the field of workers' compensation. Through its Workers Compensation Professional (WCP®) program, AMCOMP certifies professionals who demonstrate proficiency in workers’ compensation by the successful completion of the WCP course curriculum and final exam.

Professionals from all areas of the workers’ compensation industry, such as claims examiners, health care providers, attorneys, rehabilitation counselors, and auditors, benefit from earning the WCP® designation. It is strongly recommended for all employees of insurance companies, self-insured, agents, brokers, and third-party administrators as well as those from state agencies.

Program Overview

AMCOMP’s Workers Compensation Professional designation program provides industry professionals with a strong educational foundation in all aspects of the workers’ compensation industry. Those who complete the coursework will have a better understanding of how the various pieces of the workers’ compensation industry work together. Earning the WCP® Designation

  • Enroll in the program and pay the course fees.

  • Successfully complete the required coursework and related assessments.
    The WCP® coursework is offered in various formats, including self-study, virtual, or through university partners. Details for each enrollment option are listed below.

  • Pass the AMCOMP final accreditation exam, inclusive of all chapters, with a score of 70% or higher. Participants can take the exam whenever they are ready, no scheduling necessary! Upon graduation, WCP-certified professionals will receive a diploma and are entitled to use the WCP® designation.

RETAKE POLICY: In the event you fail, you are allowed ONE re-take. Students who fail the final exam twice must start the course over by purchasing it again.


Enrollment Options

SELF-STUDY

Using the textbook and course guide, students will read the content and participate in a series of chapter assessments through learning management software. This track is entirely student paced.

VIRTUAL COURSE

As a supplement to the textbook and course guide, the virtual course offers content in an online platform that allows students to connect with and learn from an instructor.

SELF-STUDY + VIRTUAL COURSE

This hybrid track combines the self-study and virtual course options to provide self-paced and instructor-led learning. Students will have access to the chapter reviews and assessments as well as the full virtual course.

UNIVERSITY LOCATIONS

This option provides students the opportunity to learn through direct instruction. Students participate in a full collegiate course hosted by university partners before being given access to the final exam.
